What is extruder nitride & bimetal screw barrel?
An extruder nitride & bimetal screw barrel is a component used in the plastic extrusion process. The screw barrel is made of a nitrided steel material, which provides improved wear resistance, corrosion resistance and longer service life compared to traditional carbon steel screw barrels.
A bimetal screw barrel is a screw barrel that consists of two different metal layers, typically a hard and wear-resistant material such as tungsten carbide, and a softer, more ductile material such as steel. This combination of materials provides a screw barrel with improved durability, as the hard layer provides resistance to wear and the softer layer allows for improved processing performance.
What are the advantages of extruder nitrogen & bimetal screw barrel?
1.Nitrogen purging in extruders: Nitrogen purging helps to improve the quality and consistency of the finished product by reducing the amount of oxygen in the processing environment, which can cause oxidation and discoloration of certain materials.
2.Bimetal screw barrel: Bimetal screw barrels have a longer lifespan compared to traditional all-steel screw barrels, as the bimetal construction allows for better heat dissipation, reducing wear and tear on the screw and barrel. This can result in more efficient and consistent processing, and reduced downtime for maintenance.
